As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Weird Oil Leak

My 450L has about 28K on it and runs like a champ. She's kept inside, babied, riden to and from work The problem I'm having now is locating an oil leak. I took her out for a ride last night and right after I parked there was a drip underneath on the left side under the shifter. I checked, the shifter seal isn't leaking. There is oil sprayed under the carbs. Any ideas? I've poked around and can't find anything.

Cam chain tensioner ?

Clean everything really well, dry completely, then, take some powder and dust the area where the oil may be coming from, go on a little ride, the leak should reveal itself. Oil leaks can be difficult to locate sometimes. :)

+1 if it's from under the carbs. Could be the tensioner gasket or the tensioner itself. There's a couple of oil seals in there and I believe there's some info on BassCliff's site about part numbers for replacing them as they're not on the fiche.

The other thing I thought is if it's from the left side, it could be the clutch pushrod oil seal also as that's behind the sprocket cover along with the shifting shaft oil seal.

Depending on your road grime build up, it could be hard to check the ones behind the sprocket cover, so you may need a ton of degreaser in there first.

This. Common problem on the 450 and many people have issues with finding the proper seal because the parts fishe is messed up in this regard. There have been several threads here on this subject so consider a search for more info if this turns out to be the trouble.

Checked that too. I replaced it last year so I checked it to make sure I didn't put it in wrong. The cam tensioner is sounding like a good possibility since its spraying the bottom of the carbs. The seal doesn't look like its too hard to replace.
