A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What carb do I have?

Awww, why didn't MY bike come with expensive performance carbs... :(

Also, I like the idea of using the vacuum port for syncing them as a vacuum line to the carbs... Should work splendidly.

Thanks Guys, I do appreciate all the help and advice, and going out of your way to give it.
this is a truly great website.
Scrambler.:D

How about buying a thread in vacuum port nipple, similar to those used for performing a sync job? Screw it into one of the threaded sync ports in the cylinder head.

+1 for that idea. That's how I plan to run mine on the 750.

so you have the 29MM smoothies
well i run them on my 1000 and i just run on prime all the time i installed a little shut off valve in the fuel line that i turn to the off position when the bike is not in use this way i never have fuel leak into the engine should the needle and seat fail to stop the flow
it also serves as a nice anti theft deterrent no fuel no go ;):)
here is a pic

There is not an off position on this petcock.
it has On, Reserve and Prime. so in this case, on should serve as an off position, once I seal up the vacuum side, correct?
Scrambler.
I'm sorry. No "off". Been living with a Pingel.
"On" would work fine to shut it off. You have a vacuum operated petcock. If operating correctly the petcock won't flow unless it's in prime position. My point is to not let it stay in prime when you park because it's possible fuel could still pass through under certain conditions. So I'd treat it like an on/off petcock. "Prime" when riding and "on" when not.

True that! No off position. Keith has been drinking Kawasaki koolaid so long he forgot.:-\\\
Yes. Between the 14 having no petcock and my GS using a Pingel, I've forgotten my roots and become too hi-tech for you Neandertha.......uh, I mean guys.
The manifolds port would work fine too if the petcock thing is too complicated. Seemed simple to me though.
Use a good fitting/better quality material hose though because the manifold gets hotter than you may realize.

Yeah, I'm definitely splicing in an extra shut off valve first thing.
I put it all back together an rode it a bit to see how it ran. the 4 into one has leaks, I'll have to weld up. the carbs seemed in good synch, but don't seem to to be shutting off quick enough between shifts. any ideas on that one guys?
Scrambler.

Wonder if the smoothies are jetted right?:-\\\
here's a clue for you as to why they don't shut down fast enough between shifts
also be sure you have both the push and pull cables hooked up to the carbs as the smoothies need both cables to be sure they close when the throttle is shut down
