Got the Kwak frame back from powdercoating so I started putting it back together. God I love powdercoating.

finally got sick of the stripped out oil-drain bolt, ordered a new pan. Dealer calls today and says it's on back-order, no idea when it'll show up. All I need to ride, too!
Have you tried the oversize self tapping oil drain repair bolt available at most auto parts stores? You can use it right away, it doesn't go and back order and does the job just fine. That's what I've got on my 850, I've never the pan yet.:D

I actually did pull the pan last year and ran a heli-coil through it, but it still leaked. So I pulled it recently and saw that there were some gouges on the mating surface. So I tried to smooth them out but had to use a grinder to get rid of the fins so I'd have working room, but ended up hitting the mating surface and ground away too much material :( Thanks for the info!

Got the Acewell bracket bent to the right angle and the top part bent to form the cover, getting close to it being able to be assembled and test fitted fully before paint.

Yesterday I had to wrench on the 1100G again. The clutch cable broke on my way home, rode about 15 miles sans clutch. No biggy, I normally do my shifting without it anyway. Pulled the cable off of my parts 850, put it on the 1100, all is good now.:D

I think I'm going to practice doing that more. 3rd gear is ****ed up and won't stay in unless I hold down the shifter, or if I keep load on the gear.

I finally replaced my chain. Took about 5 minutes. I've been putting it off because I want to do the sprockets too. I just took off the old master link, linked up my new chain and pulled it on through, then readjusted the rear wheel. I decided that when I do the sprockets, I'll take my rear rotor to get machined. So that will come later. :p I can scrub my rear wheel too. It looks like the whole black wheel is painted black. I think I'll do a spring cleaning of my entire bike and get it looking nice.

Went to a friend's house and we got his fully built 2002 TransAm WS-6 running. Bled the brakes, started to go for a ride, but he needs to adjust his tune first; it is running way too rich. Has all the equipment and experience to adjust the AFR, just needs to figure out how much to adjust the tables. Sure was nice to hear it run again.

The Acewell bracket is all but done, now needs some smoothing and final shaping of the perspex cover for it to make it all line up neatly and have nice smooth edges.

I can't go too much further until the voltage monitor arrives from the UK, thought it would be here by now...

Once that's here and I figure how to mount it, I can give it all a coat of the black satin paint I have here and get it mounted.

Gs1000

Gs1000

More stripping of the GS1000, engine finally ready to come out, bar one rounded off sprocket cover bolt.

Will sort it tomorrow :)

The GS is running again, thank goodness. I am preparing to sell her; just don't need 2 bikes anymore. Unfortunately, I can't find the tank mounting bracket for the rear of the tank. Sigh. I hate being forgetful.
Found it. Yoohoo!

Painting the wife's 400f right now parakeet yellow and painted my buffalo racer this morning with the neighbor, it looks sweet black with white stripes and gold pearl kinda has to be seen I will post pics later

Got new tires in the mail the other day along with my rear master rebuild kit, and some new brake pads, so right now the bike is sitting on the center stand and a jack with no wheels and the brakes torn to pieces. Waiting on new rubbers to redo the calipers while I have it all torn up.

Pretty much gotten as far as I can with the new Acewell bracket until the voltage monitor arrives. I got everything smoothed out tonight including the acrylic perspex cover and it doesn't look too bad, just needs some JB Weld to tidy up some gaps resulting from the bending and then some paint.

See here: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=190967

Sorry, I had to remove the thread due to a GSR troll.

Eric

Eric, is this the thread about the Trumpy motor? If so, can you start another one? I was very keen to see that and wondered where it went...

Super spotless clean up of the CBX. Soapy water spray bottle & wipe down, then spray wax all the frame tubes +. Makes the clean up easier all summer. My 11F & GS1000 are already cleaned and on the road. I LOVE that big six. Nothing sounds like it at full song.(6 into 1 Winning Performance header:eek:)

Knocked most of the carbon off of the cylinder head I bought from witttom yesterday and picked up the front brake rotor I had shipped to my dad's place as well.

There's a twin-pot conversion in my bike's future.

Pulled the exhaust to clean it up while I changed the oil.

Tried to pull one of the oil filter cover studs because it has some stripped threads. All the PB blast and worrying in the world won't budge that $*%@(#. Reassembled with the old stud in place, and she is holding so far. Will try again when I change the oil again later in the season.

Voltage monitor arrived today so big night in the garage tonight getting it mounted up as well as a switch so I can use it as a battery monitor as well (thanks for the tip Andre!).

So, the dash/Acewell bracket is now essentially all complete, just a minor adjustment of the voltage monitor bracket to line it up with the hole properly, then it's on to the JB weld to seal the gaps up and then it's painting time.

Curious what is your voltage monitor monitoring if it's not monitoring the battery voltage?
