A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Good looking shop, Dan. You've seen mine and KNOW that "your mess" pales by comparison! :o

As for the Bass...WOW, the art involved in doing that kind and level, is a lost (or at least VERY hard to find) art form. Hats off, for the craftsmanship!!

Keep the pics coming...

A little of my handy work yesterday:

DSCN1106.jpg

Dupli Color Rust Fix after a great deal of Fords rock chip protectant, was removed.

Interior shot of the drivers rear door. Still needs final clean up and rust proof the inside of the door.

Same door from the outside...

Well, Dave, with what you're doing for that 'Scort, I'm going to have to park my CJ-6 in your garage so you can give it the same treatment.:D I haven't gotten back to doctoring on it yet. I'll post some pictures of that side of the shop/garage when I resume the re-wiring operation and other assorted things I have to do to get it back on the road.

Dan...can I think about your offer on the CJ-6 and get back to you?? ;) :D

Yeah, it has to be a hobby for me or I'd go broke! :o :D

Should keep the "I can't drive in ice/snow...needs melting" people and their SALT POOP, away for another 10 years!

today I adjusted valves on my XJ600, bled the handbrake on the stuntbike, adjusted the stuntbikes rear brake pedal and finished putting the frikkin cage back on it(AFTER lining up the motor mounts again....)

then I did some cleanup on the FZR caliper I'm swapping onto my Seca, cause I'm bored. in all, pretty busy and productive day.

oh and I swapped the stator on the stuntbike, which cured a hesitation I was having on accel, and put the tail fairing on again.

GS750 - Front end is torn down, replaced wheel bearings and fork seals. Just patching it back together. Currently converting it from my daily rider to weekend warrior. Removing front faring, 12v power source, fog lights. Oil change and patched up an oil leak.
.
GSF1200 - Installed hand guards, Handle bar Riser, 12V source, fog lights. Plan on installing the new 14 tooth Front Sprocket Thursday. :D

other peoples sh*t.....I hate my job.I hate my job.I hate my job.I hate my job.:D

It doesnt help that we're a man down in the shop too.

I need to get out and yank all the carbs off the bikes and get 'em cleaned before it starts getting warm again.

I cant say I hate my job, I’m a Power steering technician and for the past day or so I have been “wrenching” on the boss’s sons birthday present, a KX80….

Today was the motor… total rebuild with new piston, rings, hot rod conrod, new bearings and seals throughout and the gearbox inspected and cleaned…

Closed it up today and gave it a new coat of paint…damn does it have some compression for an 80cc.....

I wish my parents loved me that much to buy me a kx80 for my 11th birthday…

Oh man I need a hug.......:(

Well guys! Be happy you have a job. I sat on my arse for half the day (no work no $) then went and wrenched on my garage while waiting for project part$. Bit of a problem that... no work frees you up to work on your projects:D but no money to pay for parts for the projects:(. Anyhoo I had a bit of a tidy up and reshuffle to open her up a bit. :)

Did it in my attached garage, blast heater going all the time. Not too uncomfortable.:)

I started once again modding a set of YZF600R headers to fit my XJ600, which is going well.

Well, although I was home sick today I can't sit around. So I painted the air box and footpeg mounts and terminated some wires. I hope to put the air box in place in a week or so after I fix a thread.

Got back to the BMW forks this week...all torn down and cleaned.
Hope to get them back together today...new seals, bushings, springs and gaiters....

I lubed the suspension on my new to me 20 year old snow mobile, and filled the transfer case oil. Later, I put 50 miles on it on the trails State of Maine snow mobile trail system. Its pretty cool.

As to work, my boss notified me Thursday that we lost our contract, so I have none. I'm glad my house is paid for.

Removed exhaust flange bolts. Sprayed with PB Blaster daily, tapped the head with a hammer. Used a torque wrench set at 10 ft-lbs. 6 came off at that. More PBB more tapping. Torque wrench at 15#, More tapping, more PBB. The 7th one came off yesterday. More PBB, more tapping. 8th one began to loosen at 20#. Turn it clockwise one click, CCW one click. Blast and repeat. Got loose enough to reduce torque to 15#. Go 5 clicks CCW, 4 clicks CW, blast and repeat. Still twisted the bloody thing off.

So I need to drill pilot holes and use an extractor. Who sells good, left hand twist drills. I figure to need several small ones.

(Reason for doing this now was to avoid having down-time when the weather gets warm. PO should't have been permitted in the same room with bottle opener, let alone a motorcycle. I would have been amazed if all had come out intact.)
