A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

what did you wrench on today??

I made me an overhead light for my workbench in the garage.
Couple of 10W halogen lamps strapped to an extra wheel. :dancing:
The on/off switch hangs down to the left

That calls for a string of lights around the perimeter and outlining the spoikes!

NICE! Maybe hang it from the center axle hole and more lights around the edge... like a chandelier. ;)

I got a little more of my electrics tidied up... man I hate doing that, so tedious and annoying!

Hi to all, last night was clean and polish time for the wheels on my wire wheel Kat. Can't say I really enjoy the job while doing it however, looking at her now it all seems worth the effort! Cheers.

Be careful, it looks like it is TOO NICE to ride now. ;)

Got up the nerve to pull my carbs apart and start the rebuild. Playing it safe, doing one at a time and making sure to go slow. I even took pictures of where all the brackets and linkages go...

You got that straight! Definitely worth the effort :D

And all I did tonight was fill my supposedly maintenance free battery with acid, put the Dynatek back in, and get the exhaust back on its bracket properly...

I removed the swing arm assembly on my GS550ES and have the engine ready to remove from the bike with some help. Then will bead blast the frame and primer it. Lot of work ahead in this total restoration project.

Installed a new front MC assembly. Much better match to my clutch lever and less rattle than the old one.

Finally got my other tank spread enough to fit the frame, but the paint got mangled along the way. So I stripped it for a re-paint.

Sucks that the paint got mangled! It was looking so good too...

I started on my paint polishing by hand, gave up and went to an old wool buff pad but didn't get much done because I wasted too much time...

Bought a new wire wheel yesterday and did some more old paint stripping on the wheels. I'll post up some pics tomorrow after I do some more work.

I like the colour on those carbs!

As for me, just got done hooking my new battery up and getting all my grounds and things sorted.

Turns out I have 0.01v loss between the battery and the coil plugs... but to be fair the Dyna coils aren't plugged in yet... still a damn good result I reckon considering there's no relay mod involved and it's straight stock harness cleaned up with some minor mods by me... :D

I started dismantling a wrecked '07 GSXR 1000 for my brother-in-law. It needs a swing arm, wheel, bodywork, and a few other things. The thing starts up and runs just fine, so it's roadworthiness should be OK.

The tank in my sig pic is still good. The mangled paint is on another tank, so it's all good.

I wrench on this, when I'm not operating it....

11,250hp centrifugal compressor, GEC, circa late 1950's.

Compressor!? Guess you'd have no troubles spray painting with that one...

As for me, I *nearly* have my seat foam ready to glue together for final shaping...
