I can get moly grease from a local store, no idea how much moly.

I looked at loctite moly, it would be like 35usd for the can and 275usd for the shipping (??!??!).

Is there anything else? Can I leave the previous grease? Add something else?

I know Honda Moly 60 is the crem del a crem, but I think its discontiniued?

There is a lot of Moly grease going about that is less than 20% molybdenum.
It's runny. The proper stuff is more like a paste.
Hold out for something like the grease supplied with universal joints on driveshafts.

What do you mean hold out? I need to put my wheel back on. Should I just do nothing?

I found a store in the US that would send me 15 lb of loctite moly paste, but its like $950 for the moly and the shipping (and 25% vat when it arrives)... Its the eight online store I tried...

I always used Honda Moly Paste but don't know if the same concentration of it is still available.

If you can send me a crate of Honda Moly 60, Ill send you a crate of the finest Norwegian chocholate I can find (Id also be willing to smuggle you something mroe exotic as whale or raindeer meat).

I cant source any at a reasonable price. If the moly is half the price of a new bike, I might as well lube it with moly grease from the store and buy a new bike when the splines fail.

From another forum for the Euro riders......

Molykote MoS2 paste

Ironically the easiest source I can find, is from EBAY, shipped from the US. But that is affordable and avail. The only question, what do I use while I wait for it to ship? Like there is something stick and black on them now.

I am confused about M77. Some say it has very little moly. Some say it can't be used for final drives, even for hondas. I honestly have no idea, but the consensus seems to be, more moly is better.

That is way mroe expensive than the Molykote MoS2 paste (like twice the price when shipping is included).

If in doubt, go by your Suzuki dealer with the spline.
They will probably grease it with the proper stuff for free.

They seem higly overworked and uninteressted in my buisness. But I can drop by tomorrow and ask if they ahve some (I need the washer for the oil drain plug, and possibly a new oil drain plug too).

How do you wash off the old stuff?

I am sure it will clean off the old stuff with no issue. Im worried about the wheel bearings (if I have those?) and o-rings and stuff.

Wheels bearings soak in gasoline or maybe laquer thinner.
You could try contacting Honda Marine in Norway

https://kellox.no/pahengsmotor/honda-marine/

and ask them for the moly 60 via its part number.
08798-9010ch or 08798-9010
Its still listed on the Honda Canada wwebsite so Im not sure what all the hundreds of woriied posts across varying forums is about.

Yes you have wheel bearings.
The wheel bearings are sealed, don't worry about them.
Inspect them. Put your finger inside and rotate them.
They should feel smooth, any play or crunchy feeling means new bearings.

Should I take the wheel bearings out?

The local Suzuki dealer, is also the local Honda dealer. I will ask them about Honda Moly 60, and what they would use to grease the splines. I need a oil plug washer from them anyways (last one was stubborn so I cut it off), so I can just drop by. Need to ask the tyre place about my tyre and get some pasta for between brake disc and rim (so it wont be stuck the next time). All three places are pretty much at the same location.

I am sorry I am so clueless. This is really not my forte. I am used to just handing my keys to the dealer and coming back to a well serviced car. This is also the oldest vehicle I have owned. But I seem to be getting better at dealing with these things.

Part availibility here is terrible. And there is only one motorcycle shop, and they are waaay overworked now. But I want to learn, and deal with this myself. And make my bike like original again.

So to see the wheel bearings I need to unscrew the brass (colored) disc? If that is the case, I will wait until I have proper JIS screwdrivers. I don't need more stripped screws. I am thinking of making a list of questionable bolts and screws and nuts and replacing them. I know one for the right switch assembly is shot, the one for the torque arm, a few of the ones on the carb, and probably more.

Good to know they are sealed so I can just spray down the splines with whatever solvent is handy.

Is it safe to assume they are in decent condition if I dont notice anything while riding? Ill need a new tyre in six weeks or so anyways, so I can always check them then. I dont think bearings usually has cathastropic failures without warning.

NO. Unless "the finger" tells you otherwise.

Not needed. But if you want, the slightest dab of any grease or copper paste will do.
Check the inside of the disc and the outside of the wheel it mounts to for damage.
If the disc goes on easily and rotates freely, it's okay.

NO, the bearings can be shot without you noticing while riding.
Ask the shop replacing the tire to check the bearings.
(Which they always should do)
