Will a gs 1100 header work on a gs 1000? Any others interchangeable? Thanks.

i think they are, i had picke dup a set of yosh headers that were for a 1100, 750 or 1000, and they fit no problem into my 1000 engine, the mid pipe on the other hand........
see if you can find something cheap on ebay and if it doesn't work turn it around.

Cool, I only need the header itself, I plan on building the rest so it clears my rearsets and tire.

i'm working on get a header and can from a 1100 if you want all i need is the can i could hook you up with the header.

GS 750 and Up I believe fit the 1000, I allso hear that the GSXR1100 oil cooled headers fit. and it just so happends I bought a Bandit 12 (same oil cooled Motor) Stainless 4-1, for my GS1150, Ill keep you posted when it arrives to let you know it it fits....and Im a fabricator, if dosnt fit...Ill make it fit...where is my Hammer!!!

Just don't get '83 and up 750 headers. The exhaust ports were smaller from that point on. The GSXR based heads had the smaller ports as well. Swanny made up spacers to make his GSXR pipe fit the larger ports.

That is highly interesting, Joe !!

I have been looking for a nice set of stainless headers for my 1150,
and I am considering the Bandit one. Earlier posts on this board does
not give a definite answer to the question, what will it take to make it fit.

Keep us posted !

this just in from another forum:
I got a laser 4 into 2 to 1 exhaust on me efe. came of a gsxr w 1100

Mod's.
made a simple ring on the header to fit in the engine.
no leaks and no restriction.

what year is that gsxr w1100 pipe from/for? and is there any more info on the 'simple ring' he made for it to fit?

now ive been researching this now for a little while and the above header that the guy has on his EF is from a GSXR water cooled bike 1993 and up. sounds wrong...
Im getting these damn Bandit headers next week for sure, and we should know what needs to make um fit or not
all this guess work and reading conflicting storys is driving me bonkers

whats more it seems there are a few difernt types of GSXR 1100 motors
1986 - 1989 Air/oil-cooled 1052 cc
1989 - 1992 Air/oil-cooled 1127 cc Same as Bandit 1200 1997 and later
1993 - 1998 Water-cooled 1074 cc
Im guessing that the 89 -92 and bandit 1200 has the longest stroke so should fit
like I said Ill find out this week

For years I used headers from the Kaw KZ900/1000 and similar Z-1 models. I'm pretty sure they would work up to '84 KZ/GPZ1100 as well. Have to make your own strap for the megaphone, but nothing unusual.

received the 1200 exhaust and they looklike a truck drove over them, I allso got a appolgy letter from Canada post saying they were in a vehical that was involved in a accident DAMN!!

Man, that bites big time. Are they going to replace your pipes too? or do you just get the letter.
Doze.

SO far its up to me to file a claim......they dont offer Nothing BASTADS
