A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've never tried to wheelie my 850G. I guess a semi-rational rear of the forks shattering upon setting it down kinda steered me away...

For curiosity's sake I'm guessing you clutched it up as opposed to just using the motor to do it?

I guess it's challenging to keep these older bikes up?
Or is it that noone "wants" to turn these into wheelie-machines? lol

well i didnt wanna bring it way up...due to the weight and age of the bike..

an yes i clutched it up...WITH weak clutch springs at that lol...i ordered new ones today so im sure it will do it even better

but i am gonna look for a old cbr or something for a stunt bike now lol

Yeah I hear ya, I'm also on the hunt for a cheap stunter.
It seems like anything Mid-90's are pretty cheap right now.

Not sure how much better they'll be than the 500lbs GS tanks, lol.

That was edited. Everyone knows a shaft drive bike can't wheelie.
Not true.

Can't tell you how many times the front wheel was up on my FULLY-DRESSED KZ1300, and a couple times on my Voyager 1300. :p

GS850cafe, there is at least one more reason you might not want to continue that:

And this was out of a 650, which is about 100 pounds lighter.

Not to mention the fact that, around my neck of the woods, lifting the front wheel and having it observed by an officer, will get you a "Reckless operation" citation, which will come rather close to losing your license.

.

Doug Domokos, known as the wheelie king, often dragged tail light on a KZ1300. I think his old record of a 145 mile wheely was on a KZ1300. There isn't much evidence that shaft drive bikes can't wheelie.

I'm just as certain that no BMW ever wheelied in in the Paris to Dakar race.

dude, my 650g goes up easily, especially after ebc springs.
I hope shafts are cheap!

well ive got one extra shaft lol...i havnt done much more since that video

Oooooooooon the other hand, I remember taking my then one-month old Benelli back to the shop many years ago, complaining that the clutch was slipping. I was horrified when the mechanic did a wheelie in the parking lot and came back, saying, "It seems OK to me."

My only thought was "THAT'S MY BIKE!!!"

hahahahahahaaaa!!!!!!

he just wheelies on your bike, then takes off, lol.

ALL fake. Technically impossible for a shaft drive bike to wheelie. You more experienced guys should know this ;)

I had an FZR600 for a couple of years I thought would make a great stunt bike if someone had the inclination. Short wheelbase on that little pig.

I have managed to pop the front wheel of my 1100G up in smooth power stands without popping the clutch. Take of in first and crack it hard when she gets to about 5500 to 6000 rpm and up she comes (about 1 to 1.5 feet high). I no longer have the balls to lift it right up anymore (when I was young I excelled at back flipping bikes).:o

if a 850cc shaft driven bike wont pull the front wheel...you have a problem or you dont know how...

power wheelies no...clutch wheelies yes
