I need help!

I purchased what I thought was a GSX750 from a Bike shop, I saved the sexy beast from death. (she was to be broken for spares!)

She had no papers and is an import. (Number plate states from "TORINO")

I was given the name and address from a guy in the know, who would issue me with a dating certificate. I gave him the Chassis number and the engine number from the bike, he has given me a dating certificate for 1980. all relevant information was sent to the DVLA and they have issued her with docs for a V PLATE.

looking at pictures of machines on here and on the suzuki owners club it would appear that she could be a 1982 gsx 750 e mark 3.

I am now totally confused and now need therapy.

Can anyone help? I dont know what to do next

Cheers

Jo

How do i post a picture.

It must be a digital picture or a regular pic scanned to digital. The picture must be somewhere stored online/on a computer for you to share it. You can get free storage at places like groups at MSN.com and the like.

When you have it somewhere, post the link or the image by putting the link between these....

. Good luck

Or....email the pic to me and I'll post for you.

What a sweet looking ride you have there Jo. Congrats. 8)

To make that happen, all I did was put the address of that picture (uploaded to my server) between these two bits of text aka Img button in the post a reply menu and its posted.

From your dating certificate, I assume that 1980 would be the manufacture year. It was probably manufactured in 1980 for the 1981 model/sales year.
I have a 1981 GS/GSX 750 EX and it matches your photo exactly.

thanks to 80gs1000e

thanks to 80gs1000e

A very big thank you to 80gs....for putting a pic of me baby on here.

Hi Earl thanks for you advice.

The manufacturing details i found on www.suzukicycles.org show that the changes made to my bike would have been for the 1982 spec. So you can see why I am confused.

guess i just need to learn to worry less lol
now its a case of what year do i order my parts for lol

Re: thanks to 80gs1000e

I most of the parts interchange between E models 80,81,82. I'm pretty sure the commonly used things like sprockets, chains, cables, brake pads, switches, stator, R/R, headlights, turn signals, clutch linings etc etc, are the same.

If you want, you can pay me to ship them to you. I am currently (one of these days Simon, honest) doing this for some of our Australian members as well. Just let me know what you want, I'll order it and get it shipped to me and then ship it to you. You can just pay me to total then. Basically it will add the cost of the shipping to you to the total. This is if you cannot find them anywhere else.

Just let me know.
