If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

What's the difference between .004-.005ish+ @ valve adjustment time 1150?

I've been doing this for a while (20 years+), adjusting valves, can't say I'm good at it, never feels any easier,
but never really felt any difference when my valves were adjiusted to the ideal middle ground of clearance.
Is there really anything good or bad between .004-.005 ish
After doing 4 track days last summer, my valves seem to be looser then when I last adjusted them.
Seems like the clearance woud be tighter, if anything.
I just adjusted them recently (2 days ago), at least within the last 3-4k, and several were looser than I recall them being
at the last adjustment. Any thoughts?

I can share this thought...Write down the measurements and save them for next time to measure the change if it is occurring.

Shouldn't hurt Carter, they might be loosening up a bit because of clearances in the cam journals. A little wear and the oil drained a bit after hot and you would be a bit looser. Truly, a couple tenths can feel like a mile with feeler gauges.

I'm just wondering when doing a valve adjustment, finding a valve at over .005 barely, is it worth adjusting it to .004
or just leave it alone. None of the valves were tight, under .003. I'm doing a carb sync on Monday, so doing the valves seemed
like a good idea.

I am pretty anal about valves and try to bulls-eye nominal, but a little loose shouldn't hurt anything. That said, if the valve cover is off, you might as well adjust it.
