A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've just bought a rear wheel and tyre on ebay, advertised as being from a GS750. I didn't look at it closely when I picked it up, but when I got home I realised it was a different size from the one on my bike and the spare I have in the garage. Reading from the tyres, I have:
Tyre on bike: 130/80 - 18
Just bought on Ebay: 130/90 H16
(spare in garage: 120/90 V18)

What I need to know is: could this 16 wheel have ever been on a GS750, were they fitted at any time? Or was it wrongly advertised and useless to me? I bought it mostly for the disc but the mountings are totally different. My hunch is that this wheel is from a totally different bike. Can anyone put me right before I complain to the seller?!!!
Thank you.

Most of the L model bikes came with 16" rear wheels, including the 750L's. It could (most likely) be made to fit your bike. Of course, we don't know what kind of bike you have other than GS750, which branches almost 10 years of production and three different generations.

Thanks, Nessism.
My bike is actually a hard tail chop (I didn't butcher a GS, I bought the chop half finished as a project) and it has GS750 engine, wheels and a few other bits (some bits might be GS1000) and the donor bike was a 1979 as far as I know. The rear wheel is 18 inch.
So I can't really have a go at the ebay seller because its quite possible the 16in wheel could have been GS? Oh well, that'll teach me to check sizes before I buy!

I don't understand the problem. Why not just install the wheel?
