i never screwed my tires i mark the rim and tire with a a paint marker and have never had one spin on the rim bike has been high 8ts in QTR [ just my experence with them ] i have a RC comp rear rim 6.0 inches and run 7.5 slick tubeless
http://www.rccomponents.com/dragproducts/drag_forged_wheels.htm . as for the wheelie bars being 1.5 inches you have to take into consideration the tire wrinkeling at the inital launch on the weight transfer. with the old 8.5 goodyear i used to keep them maybe an inch because the tires had a very short sidewall what a great tire couldnt believe it when they were discontinued
here is a pic of me on one of my bikes { yes have a GS to LOL} leaving the line you want front wheel about an inch off the ground having someone there to take pics of you leaving and looking at your 60 ft times really helps setting up chassis
