I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Where to buy paint in Brisbane (Aus)?

Not sure if any one can help or not, but looking for somewhere good to buy paint in the next couple of weeks in Brissie.

I'm looking for colour choice and some service as I need to ensure I've got as much info as I can get to do a good job.

I'm intending to paint my front and rear mudguards and tank when I take my week off at the end of June while waiting for my exhaust to get made.

So, any Brissie guys buy paint locally and have somewhere you know where they know what they're talking about and can tell me how to use their products as well? Mainly I'm concerned about the correct prep as I'll have three different surfaces; chrome (front guard), metal (tank), and plastic (rear guard).

Let me know if you find someone as our shop CANNOT find a good painter. They all say they are but the outcome begs to differ.

Will do, although I'm only looking to buy so I can do it myself... got a deal from Supercheap just before Chrissy for a compressor with free hose and 4 gun gravity feed HVLP pack, so hoping to put those to good use finally.

Why doncha go to tha paint shop ?
I bought some from the butchers , once , but it tasted like $hit .

Cheers , Simon . (Burp .... Had a few ........ Sorry) . :p

Oh har di ha ha... everyone's a comedian :p Have another one 'ey? :p

Actually I'm just jealous, on call this weekend so must stay sober...

I've found three that have an online presence so far, although none are particularly close to me. The first one is at least on the right side of the river...

http://www.colourfastauto.com.au/

http://www.brisbanerefinish.com.au/

Last one's page is under construction but the brands look promising.

If noone knows of anywhere good in Brissie, I'll just knock these guys off one by one over the phone I guess and pay whoever looks best a visit at the end of June...

Sorry aboot that Pete .
Holidays in the States is taking it's toll . Riding , eating , laughing AND drenkin' . Lots of drenkin' .
Sort the paint old mate . We've got a date at the Island in January remember .

Cheers , Simon . :o

Pete,
There is a really good paint shop at Nerang. I know its not Brissi, but it is right on the highway.
I have bought paint there and so has my mate, every time they have helped us with every question and where good on price too.
If you are interested in making the drive down i will find out the name.
Or if you get sorted by Wednesday i will be in Brisi and could drop it off. ( could be difficult given the public holiday)

Cool, yeah shoot me the name, certainly doesn't hurt! Wednesday's a bit soon, gotta wait for pay day and stuff and at this stage I'm looking at taking the 23rd June off to go get it as I'm getting it towed to Tranzac the day after.

paint in brissy.............

paint in brissy.............

if you have an autobarn ,,,i found they do a great job mixing or colur coding and cost are good regards oldgrumpy :D

There's one down the road at Enogerra actually but every time I go past they're shut... they seem to have some strange hours.

However, I shall endeavour to have a look.

Mind you, looks like me week off will now be tank repair rather than tank painting...

Well, while I've put paint on the back burner, I did duck into Autobarn today and the one at Enoggera don't do auto paint at all, but that doesn't surprise me as it's a weird little store that one.

I did go have a chat with a lady in Supercheap though about the 3M paint, and while I give her credit for trying, she really didn't know a lot about what she was talking about from the sounds of things, although I did learn you can't put enamel over acrylic, but you can put acrylic over enamel...

Anyway, I'm still confused by it all and 3M really don't have any colour charts that I can find except for a small square on the tin that doesn't give you a good indication of how a colour will look in bulk.

I'm really gonna havta get to a real paint shop and talk to someone knowledgeable as I need to know how to get two colours on top of each other etc. for what I want to do...
