    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

where to buy seat cover vinyl?

so i'm sending my torn up seat cover out to be replicated but i want something to sit on in the meantime.

i could just try wrapping a contractor bag over the seat foam, but figured if i can get some inexpensive vinyl i'd just as soon try to slap some on and see if i can make it look a little less ghetto. any advice on where to purchase a chunk of this?
 
:rolleyes: so.. seeing as i work in teh fashion district in NYC... just walk into a shop and ask for vinyl fabric?

How slick did that stuff get in the rain? I think I'll try that out with my seat until I can get it recovered.
 
I never used it for a motorcycle seat cover, so I can't comment on how it's like in the rain. But I suspect it will work just fine.
 
It's marine vinyl so it'll hold up fine. Dunno how slick. I just bought some whatever vinyl last night for like $10 so mission accomplished. Haven't started trying to fasten it yet and it's not reinforced so my cover will probably be pretty loose and ugly,(scared to stretch too much) but it'll serve until a replacement is made. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :)

I bet unless you're riding nude it'll be fine. You're not riding nude, are ya?


Just thinking of boats I've been on. In trunks seats get a little slippery but really I wouldn't worry.
 
There are some cool textures to vinyls these days. I used to build my own guitar amplifiers and the cabinets are usually covered in tolex, which is just a trade name for vinyl. Mojotone.com sells various textured vinyls for covering guitar amps and speaker cabs and some are even in faux alligator skin. How cool would that be for a seat?
