As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Building a 1982 GS850 and need to replace the 4 carbs. I'm finding on Ebay and other units from other years and models. Having a hard time deciphering what will work.

Looking on Ebay I see several sets but confused as to if they will work or not. Example, one for a GS1100, will any of these work? If not how do I best search and find a
replacement?

Thank you in advance!!

Or other?

Why do you need to replace the carb rack?

Not knowing I pulled the idle tube that pulls from the bowl. I did it on all 4, thus rendinging it useless. I was pulling out the jets and other to clean and pulled / broke those thinking I would replace them but now I understand I need a new / used set.

Neither of those will run properly
There's a guy on the FB GS salvage yard selling a set

I did get on there and see there are some sold. However they are 28mm, and I've read it might be 32mm and other places say 34mm. So the more I look the more confused I get.

Did you look in the factory service manual or some specifications from Suzuki?

Those tubes you pulled are not "idle tubes", they are the pickups for the "enrichment" system, otherwise mis-labeled as the "choke". You may have a difficult time starting the bike when cold, but once started, it would run OK.

You have 32mm carbs. They were used on 550s through 850s from '80 and up. The 1000s and 1100s used 34mm carbs, they will not fit in the boots in the airbox or the engine.

Did you merely pull the tubes from the bodies or did you break them off? Either way, they might be repairable.

I do have a set of carbs for an 850, but they came from an '80. The jetting is pretty much the same, but the "choke" mechanism is different, and would have to be changed to match your '82 cable.
