A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi guys, Does anyone know if a 1984 gs1150ef engine will fit in a 1982 gs750s frame. The engine looks very similar to my gs750 lump so I though it might work.

I found a 84 1150ef for sale in my area for $1600 canadian, 6,000km on rebuilt engine. Is that a good deal? Below is some info on the bike in question...

Thanks

I've never done the swap but there have been several talented forum members that have. I believe that you will have to fabricate some motor mounts but that should be the extent of it.

 Dave what's wrong with the 1150 that you want to tear its heart out? An 1150 as is will always be worth more than a "frankenbike" IMO. Ofc course if the bike is crashed that's another story:)

Well, the 1150 is not crashed but it looks like it would need some TLC. Instead of me spending a ton of cash souping-up my 750 motor to get no more than 90-100 ponies, It only makes sence to drop in a motor that has stock 114HP and with a few mods I think I could get it up to about 125HP.

This is a picture of the gs1150 I found.

That a real popular swap I guess. Isnt it called a 7/11 ?
Ive been looking and wracking my brain but I cant remember where I saw it. A company on the internet sells the conversion motormounts for this swap. Im sure there is a swap covered here on GSR somewhere in the archives.

The cases should have the same dimensions. I remember something about having to create spacers for the lower motor mounts(?)I don't remember exactly the problem. Shouldn't be hard to overcome
