A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

No and if it did you may not like the "L"seat anyway.

You'll need either an 850G or 1100G '82 or later.

Fit?
Meaning same size and the mounting mechanics match... No.
Meaning about the same general size to fit the space.... Dont Know.

Prior to 82 the seats were hinged on one side and had latch on other side, for the seat to tilt up sideways.
82 and after the seats had bracket on front to match bracket on frame, and had latch on back, for the seat to lift up and off.

I do know an 82 after 1100G seat will swap with an 1100GK seat. THey are different, but will swap.

Let me guess.
Your 82 GK seat has the seat pan rusted out to where the mounting hardware is coming loose.
Which is what happened to my original 82 GK seat. THe vynal is great, the stuffing is pretty good, the pan is rusted out in the front. (still have it).

Took me a year or two to find a decent replacement on ebay.

GKs didnt sell well, so were not many of then to start with. And the 82 had black seats, and the 83 & 84 were mostly two tone.

GK seats are narrower in the front, and have the slight step with the definite ridge between, but will swap with an 1100G seat. At a rally I did test swap GK seat with 1100G (82>).

Thanks fellas, that is all great info.

Yep, mine has the battery acid rusted seat pan. Not rusted all the way through, but enough that it has been hard on the seat vinyl where it wraps over the edges.

I know the kind of side lift seat, didn't realize it was 81-82 change. I have seen them before. Thanks for the detailed description

I'll look around and see what I can find or make work from what I have.

If you see one in great condition, don't be shy about it, let me know
