A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey guys I have a nice little 81 250t. It is in great condition and I love it.

I am curious though if the other motors will fit in the frame. I would like just a bit more power.

I have heard the 400 is a punched out 250, if so will the top ends interchange?

Any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the whole GS450 engine will swap right in!

There aren't too many 250-450 experts here. I don't know if it would work or not. The 400 and 750 were the frst of the GS line. If I can provide you some measurement from my 450, send me a PM.

I was just thinking if I come across a 450 I may get it and swap them out. I have the 250 chassis in pretty good shape but would like to cruise at highway speeds a bit easier.

My son will probably end up on it and from age 14--16 our state has a 250cc limit. If I leave it badged and titled as a 250 he could still benefit from the extra few horses the 450 has. He is going to be well over 250 lbs by the time he get 14 and able to get his license.

As for just sheer power my 08 GSXR 1K has more than I could ever use. I did open it up once thinking I would see 160 indicated. I was by that so quick I shut it down at 172 indicated. Probably only 155 or so real speed. I looked down as I was slowing down and I was still in 5th gear.

Although, If your really bored, Throw in a 500. With that single down tube the exhausts will fit around it.

You can't just drop the top end on there.

The 250 crank has a shorter stroke and the cylinder jugs won't fit in the case of the 250 i don't think.
Its the same engine but everything is scaled down.

There is no easy swap for this one except maybe a 300 engine?

have any links to do just that 500 into 250 frame? or ya joking
