    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Would this be worth getting?

Sorry if this is wrong place to ask this, but I was looking on ebay for whatever and I came across this

now I don't know if my head needs replaceing.. (on the bike, thank you) or just cleaing. I was thinking of getting this and cleaning it up just to have, you know in case.. but really.. would I need it?

My bike is a 82, when I changed the speedo (broken needle) it said about 8000 miles.. now I don't know if it was changed before, but thats what it had. The bike is great, starts and runs good. Wish for more power on interstate, but a bigger bike and smaller me would help that.

Anyway... its at like 29.00 now... maybe something to work on?? Thoughts and opions?

Do you need a project? Have money burning a hole in your pocket?
I you want to get it to learn and play around with it why not?
If your bike runs good and you don't have the money why?
 
Thats what I was thinking.. getting it to learn with... but really don't have the money right now, but it would be a good project...

Price is great deal, only you can decide if you need it. I have purchased a used 650 topend off of ebay for around $100 total, so this is in line. Mine didn't have the cams, but everything else. In my case, I rebuilt my oil burning motor and needed the parts. To have them sitting around if needed isn't all bad, you could also clean and resell as mentioned.

Nice thing is that it has useable parts even if you don't tear into your original engine. Valve shims, valve end cap covers, and carb boots are all reuseable.

Cleanup is with a parts degreaser, simple green, or any sort of solvent.

Get your 650 tuned properly, mine have plenty of go to stay with traffic on the highway. I am also "large boned". As long as you aren't running over 85 mph constantly, I have been very pleased with power. Granted it is not like a new 600 or bigger but I think that is to be expected.
 
Agreed. If you can get it for $30.00 it would be money well spent. The shims alone are worth that. :-\\\
