A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

i have a 83 gs1100g and when i try to smoke the back tire it just bogs out??now this is my first bike but i feel i know it pretty good i have replaced plugs and wires..and pretty much rebuilt the carbs so does anyone have any idea why i am bogging out at high rpms??

Did you actually dip them or just spray them down with a can?

Let's see, your first bike is an 1100 with a drive shaft, you don't know how to do a burnout, and this worries you?
Moron.

you'll have better luck on gravel... no really, burnouts are stupid

BE PREPAIRED TO OPEN YOUR WALLET. Shaft drives do not take to burnouts !!!! It will tear up the rear wheel spline adapter in short order.
Did you put the air box on ????
With the big heavy 1100 you could break the secondary gear set too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can travel 100mph all day long but please NO BURNOUTS with a "G" model

It's a 25 year old mechanical device. Think about things like Metal Fatigue and just basic wear and tear from all those years of use and quit trying to break it. But if you insist, I have a spare final drive assembly I'll sell you when you finally succeed.

Don't mind what the others are saying....Just sell the bike to me, so I can put it to better use, and a better home, and you can go get yourself a crotch rocket and use that for burnouts......

Agree with all the others. Burnouts are best left for the drag strip and MotoGP circucit. On your 25 year old bike - YOU WILL BREAK SOMETHING!!!!

Burnouts are incredibly dangerous too. I've seen a few dudes lose control when the back tyre suddenly found grip and the front launched into the air.

What's "pretty much" rebuilt the carbs mean? You either did or you didnt, which is it?

Did you get an O ring kit from Robert ? Do you have the complete air box installed, good intake boots ? Any vacuum leak, air box leak, pipe or filter changes without rejetting will make it run like crap
