DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Some progress.

Had a supplier make up a vinyl stencil for the silver leafing.

Turned out OK, but edges needed to be smoothed off.

Cleaned up edges with 1000g paper.

Still need to smooth it off and prep for clear coat. :)

Nice Wally, that should come up well! Looks like a good proportion for the size of the tank too.

Got some new (2nd hand) parts today.

Proper footpegs, RHS switch assembly and throttle cable.

Exhaust is done (along with a few small other things) and I am collecting tomorrow morning. :)

It has been an awesome day despite the fact that I couldn't get clear coat on the tank - it was raining and very humid today.

But loads of progress on the reassembly!

This is where it all started this morning...

That exhaust is a thing of beauty! I had them brush it as I don't feel like polishing pipes.

Installed foot pegs, r/h engine emblem, gauges, brake hose, speedo cable (which I might need to get shortened), coils, carbs (bench synced with new intake boots), pods, indicators, rear light, clutch cable (semi installed).

Also drilled and grommets at back od headlight for indicator wires.

Exhaust guy turned some spacers for shock mounts:

Awesome Wally! Yep, love that exhaust and she's pulling together very nicely indeed :D Good job!

Thanx guys! Feels cool after all the graft to get to this point. Tons of small things to do before it can go off for electrical stuff.

Don't really want to send the freshly painted tank with - should the guy be able to get it started with an auxiliary tank of sorts I suppose?

But time is really in short supply, part-time courses and studying for tests will take most of my time.

I am aiming to at least ride it before winter hits us!

After it is up and running I still have the big job of jetting the carbs properly.
But I will leave set-up as is for now until it is in running shape.

LOVE that exhaust Wally. The bike looks really good. Great job so far!

The bike is cool, the exhaust is awesome. I now hate my exhaust:confused: and it will have to go -so thanks a lot Wally

Don't worry Wally, I still prefer my exhaust :p

But yours is definitely quite awesome!

He shouldn't need your tank if he just has to run the bike for a short time, I do carb tuning etc. with a little whipper snipper tank hanging from the ceiling, holds enough fuel to run for 10 min's or so if I need it.

Finally, some shots of the clear coat on the tank.

Struggle to capture it with the phone, but hope to take some proper shots once it is all done. Tank has only been polished here - not color sanded or buffed.

Also swapped wires on RHS control switches.

Making slow progress. Hope to have it with electrical guy in about 2 weeks time.

Thanx. :D

Sci85, I initially considered that, but finding stuff here at decent prices Is near impossible. Maybe I'll have some luck down the round. ;)
