Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I didnt mean sell it to me, not my style but im sure there are plenty of riders out there that would pay good money for that pipe. You should make a little custom name badge that say " Mindless Racing" or something like that.

God damn that is gorgeous!
What do those springs do?

And subscribed to this thread. :D This is just amazing. I don't think I even want to guess at the number of hours or the chunk of change you have put into this.

The springs hold the exhaust together. Under the engine they hold the midpipe to the collector and the rear ones hold the muffler to the midpipe. Clamps work too if you have slip-joints but for my application springs was best.

Looks cool too. :)

As for hours spent and money... well, can't answer you on the time spent I'm afraid. It's been two years since I bought it but only worked on it for real during winter.

Money? Got to be close to $14000 now. :-#

Looks great; but I'm still waitin on paint to complement the duct tape on the seat :p

I just went back to the front and saw this pic from ages ago :-#

I think the pipe has turned out much nicer than that first mockup

This is pretty much the point where I decided it wanted to be a "what-if" Yoshimura AMA superbike from the early 80's. Since they never raced with this bike, I thought it would be kinda cool to build one.

I'm new around here, but I think this thread should at the very least be made sticky, perhaps even a keeper.

Very re-visitable, this...

Haha. I'm afraid the duct-tape is gone and a new seat is in the works. :p

Might start working on the bodywork soon to get it ready for paint...

As for the initial idea with the exhaust vs. the current look? Yeah... I have to agree. An underseat exhaust wouldn't have suited the bike. :-#

What's the wire tubing/sleeving that you're using. It llooks very interesting (and not to mention - professional) ?

A friend on another forum who is building it for me. The sleeve is as far as I know Tech-Flex, basically a fine webbed plastic mesh sleeve.

And yeah - it looks very professional. Should have it fitted on the bike in a week or two.

Dude, we're going through major withdrawal here! Need updates on the coolest bike in the boards!

Haha, sorry about that. Been busy with some school work and I'm still waiting on the electrical system from the guy in England.

Took the bike over to a friend out of town the other day to get the cams timed and sorted out.

Besides that? Got the Yoshimura emblem for the muffler today so I went and got myself some rivets and fitted it. Made all the difference I think (a good contrast to all the silver on the rear end).

Started working on a chain guard for the rear sprocket as well, will post some pictures when it's done.

The new wiring harness is done, all he needs to do is check that it works and get it posted. Should be here sometime next week.

I don't think you're revealing everything... cos I spy some new bits added to the exhaust springs, no?? :o

He added the springs in post 379... And both you guys commented on them

Mindless. Seriously. Words cannot describe how awesome your build is.
Also the Yosh emblem looks the business on the exhaust.

I believe that they are referring to the silicone sheaths that he has since put over the springs.

Just put them on to see how it would look. They came from the Yoshimura underseat exhaust that I had mocked up early in the build. Think I'm going to remove them, don't want to clutter it with small stuff like this.

But they do serve a function though: eat small vibrations that may (in time) cause the springs to snap.

Electrics all done and in the mail on the way to me. Maybe first start sometime this weekend or early next week. :)
