I put new tach cable on my 850L. It took about 5 minutes so I don't know if I can call that "wrenchin".

Today I started the replacement of my exhaust with the new (to me) Kerker 4 into 1...

Not so easy. Sometime before I bought the bike, someone had worked on the exhaust and cross threaded two of the flange bolts.. They broke and are now currently stuck in the head.

Soooo.. lucky for me, I have a parts bike that has fewer miles on it, and has had the head redone in the last two years.

Tomorrow I will do a head and above swap, I will be using the carbs from the parts bike too.

The parts bike was on the road just two months ago, ...my bike sat in storage for four years before I got it. SO I am hoping the carbs are in better shape too... I'll know by sunday...

Last night the girls removed my exhaust pipes so I can scratch them up and repaint while we still have some good weather and loosened up some other bolts. We'll be removing both wheels today so I can take them down and get the tires off. Hopefully I can spend tonight trying to clean them up and paint them since tomorrow is our only other warm day this week

Just finished installing the $31.50 TCM I bought off Ebay. It's outside running and I should know soon if the problem is fixed.

(as He prays to the good Lord above)

***edit*** it ran for an hour with no DTC's or pending DTC's. it looks like it's fixed. time to transfer the plate from the escort on Monday and drive it.

                  DTC- diagnostic trouble codes
escort- a particular type of vehicle

                  ***edit 10-19-11***

drove it two days so far with no issues. looks like it's fixed

Pulled the engine from the old '88 Lincoln.

Working in sand has its problems. Nothing too difficult though.

                          Pressed word sucks BTW...

Jacked it out of the hole and moved the sorry excuse for lumber...

Dragged the engine across the backyard and relocated it on a pallet after it was clear and fell through the "wood" again...

                          After a quick bath...

The plan is to get it into this '66 T-Bird...

It will leave TONS of room to work on it in the engine bay that was designed for a 390/428...

OH MAN Dan! I LOVE Rocket 'birds. I am soooo jealous. Mom bought a used '64 (first year for the Landau style) from the dealer in '66. I remember it well because she traded her 1 year old MUSTANG to get it
                                Hind sight is 20/20!
You are so lucky to be in Nevada because I also remember Dad and I DRIVING it to the junk yard and getting $60 for it. Here they salt the roads in the winter and it ate classic car bodies like candy.... After that we bought a '72 Torino station wagon
