While waiting for new sprockets and chain to arrive, took the swingarm off and regreased the bearings. Also cleaned all the greasy gunk from around where the front sprocket goes. It was full of metal shavings.

Try knocking on the No. 2 carb bowl with screwdriver handle first. Might just be a stuck float.

Left the Cucciolo alone tonight and instead I made the dodgiest ugliest camera mount for my el-cheapo mini DV video camera I just received the other day.

Just used some scrap aluminium and galvanised steel with rubber mounts to hopefully eliminate some vibration.

It'll need some refining yet as the way it sits makes the camera point too high, but that'll be easy fixed.

I'm trying to get it behind the fly screen to try and keep wind noise out as much as I can too.

And I can use the laptop to preview the setup so I know it's aimed right.

Apologies for the filthy bike, has been lots of rain the last few days.

left the plastic cover off for the photo cause it is all scratched...

Working on 4-cycle string trimmer someone threw out because it had no compression.

I found it out after the first pull while staring at the valve cover.

Didn't read the manual to know you have to check and adjust the valves on these things.

                          No clearance, no compression.

I put it all back together and it started on the 2nd pull. So for the price of a carb and some fuel line ($40) I have a working 4 stroke weed wacker.

After fighting most of the morning and early afternoon with my first failed attempt at a temporary tank, I called up a local lawnmower store and picked up a used fuel tank from him, 2 ft of fuel line, and a shut off valve at Lowes. Did my first solitary carb synch and don't think I did too bad.

                            What do you think?

The funny part to me here was all four carbs were even until I grabbed my phone to take this picture. But like Cliff's tutorial states, don't worry about getting it perfect.

Nice one Scott! They say have them all within 2 of each other, and looks like all four are good

I revised my camera mount so the bottom part is now hinged instead of a bolt to clear the top triple tree properly.

It should be lined up straight enough to test on the way to work tomorrow if it's not still raining although it's a little hard to tell in the confined space tonight:

To be honest, I expect to review the footage and start to feel queasy watching it with all the vibration, but I can only try and see...

Then after that I got stuck back into the Cucciolo and I got the cases split tonight.

I did an oil/filter change, checked the tranny and differential oil, and tire pressure on the RT for my 4,000 mile trip that will begin in a few days.
