Guys, thanks for the kind words.
They are Sun rims with CBR rotors. 2.5"/3.5" @18" rims allow for a 110/150 BT45 combo.
The more rubber the better for this tubby bike.
The PipeMaster exhaust makes a lovely racket.

Larry it does have the Sportkit. Kept the rearsets but changed the bars for some lower Tommasselli clip-ons.

I went for a nice after work ride to "Zookies" my favorite wing restaurant. On the way home I stopped by the airport for a picture. This motorcycle is running so good, I'd take it over a new motorcycle any day! ☺

This bike I once owned has now evolved into something very special, a testament to your abilities, time, and effort! I bet it is an absolute pleasure to ride!

The trip to meet my lovely bride in Seligman, AZ went well for the most part. 400 miles each way all interstate and VERY windy both days. I definitely would not do a ride like that just to get out and ride. Honestly, it was my least enjoyable trip to date with the fewest smiles per mile. From Albuquerque to Gallup, NM heading West I thought for sure I could continue on to California if I wanted to but as soon as I crossed into Arizona the wind kicked my butt! My fuel mileage was cut in half hitting the reserve at 80 miles and the gauge was beyond empty at 120 miles. Just for perspective in the past I have been at 225 miles on a tank pulling up to the pump. That made it really hard to plan fuel stops. If I had backed off the throttle a bit my mileage would have been better I'm sure. I actually lost time by going faster. I must be crazy to go through this just to see a girl, I thought. Yep, crazy what love does to us. I know she was on her way home but the challenge of getting out there made it even more special. Ok, yeah I'll quit being a sap, moving on now....
At first glance it seems the town blew away.



There were bikes everywhere in this little town. Come to find out there was a rally, too broke for Sturgis it was called, somewhere nearby. The tiny motel called The Supai had paking up to the room so I pulled the GS in behind our truck.



One little shop called the Route 66 Motoporium was super cool. In the front was a typical post card and T-shirt gift shop but in back was a museum of sorts.









We ate at The Roadkill Cafe on Friday night. Neat place for beer, $2.50 draft beers, but the food wasn't very good. Overcooked chicken fried steak covered with watery gravy served with previously frozen rubbery green beans and a cool baked potato. Like I said, drink a few beers and enjoy the place but maybe walk a crossed the street for food. Oh, the bike stayed at the room and we walked around town. It's one street, haha not even one stoplight.

On Saturday we headed home. She is much better at staying at the speed limit or a little under so mileage was much better. I found it relieving to lay on the tank with my feet on the rear pegs to get under the windjammer. My neck took a beating in the cross winds but tucking in helped a whole lot.

Aside from the occasional plaster dinosaur or petrified tree, there isn't much to look at on that stretch of I-40 through Arizona. Stopped in Winslow for one of many fuel stops. I pulled up close to the truck and put my 4.5 gallons on the same purchase.



We stopped in Gallup for dinner which was interesting as there was a drunk causing problems in the restaurant. Three police officers came and escorted him away. Then stopped again at the Continental Divide for a candy bar and rest for a minute. Finally back home. Wind beaten and glad to be home. 800 miles in two days is a new personal best. Quantity isn't the same as quality though.

Wind was never that bad between Alamogordo and Las Cruces when I visited Mr Bill. There's got to be an explanation for that.

Trust me I was singing that Eagles tune for miles! Previously, as we had dinner at the Roadkill Cafe, a song sparked some laughter.

Several weeks ago we were eating lunch in the mountains next to the bike. I asked her if she thought my bike is sexy or not. Sort of kidding, but not really... Anyway, she said yes, well I suppose it is a sexy bike. Fast forward to a couple days ago the song from Kenny Chesney "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" came on overhead. I couldn't help but laugh and rewrite the lyrics for the occasion.

I rode about 250 miles Sunday afternoon, hot diggity. Returning from a three-day conference in Buckhannon WV, and I got to take highway 119/33 in West Virginia and it was a fine fine road. Hills, curves, hardly ever stopped but rarely got above 55, and that was for about 100 miles. Loved that stretch. I missed a terrific scenic picture opportunity in the hills, but I was having too much fun. Then there was scenic highway 124 and then 7 on the Ohio side of the Ohio River. Perfect day for riding.

Nice ride with a buddy. His buddy tagged along with his Road Glide. we did a blast around the Southern Half of Lake Champlain... Really warm.

I did a 112 mile loop out of Minneapolis, east across the river to Wisconsin yesterday morning on my little GS450. After two seasons of work, this bike is really starting to come together. Runs great, no more oil leaks, decent handling with renewed suspension and brakes...



That darkness off to the west had turned into a wall of black and green sky by the time I was headed west back toward the city. It's an uneasy feeling racing toward something like that. I beat it to my garage by less than 60 seconds...

Friends of mine were riding bicycle in that. They planned a 50-mile ride and ended up with a 5-mile ride including meeting a new friend Jerry who offered them shelter from the hail. Storms can be amazing.

Yeah, it was an amazing one for sure. It makes you feel very small and very appreciative of shelter.
