Dirty side down by Scott Marvin, on Flickr Taken in Aurora KY yesterday after lunch at Amazin Blaze BBQ. It was a beautiful day here in West Kentucky.
    sigpic2002 KLR650 Ugly but fun!
2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

But, Ah, you dont wanna see that.

      Well, actaully......
I stayed long enough to let them look thru about 10 photo prints (5x7) I had made, some that they had commented on online, pier/beach/sunset/LocalScenes.
and I let them pick one. And I mounted on magnetic backing for them.

Yep, I figure it got stuck in Park because I never used it before, and never used Lock before either. I had been hesitiant to use the Lock becuase have heard it it getting stuck. Then I used the Park once because I wanted to turn on the tail light, but I didnt know it also operates the Lock Mechanism.

        SHort discussion:
"Lock" is push and turn key all the way one way. WHich operates a mechanical throw to lock handlebars.
"Park" is push and turn key all the way the other way. WHich turns on the tail light (powered my main fuse, not the tail light fuse), AND also operates the lock.

I freed it by by getting some lube on the throw from undeneath (after Rich82 showed me what to look for. Is Much harder to see on GK), and then essentailly pushing it back up from underneath while wiggling/turning the key. It wasnt the ignition key/lock that was stuck, it was the handle bar lock throw that was stuck.

        More detail:
82 GS1100GK I Put the ignition swtich in Park position (turn to ON , push in, turn further to right), and tail light only comes on ..... and now switch is stuck there. Push key in.. wiggle key.... wiggle handbars ... mutter.. mumble... cant get key to turn back.... (pulled main fuse so battery not run flat) All my years here

Out on the bike all morning, and into the afternoon.
Was only mid 40s this morning, mid 60s in afternoon.

Out for morning coffee at coffee shop.

Went to a marschy place looking for blue herons or green herons or egrets or whatever........ nope.

Went elsewhere and walked down railroad tracks about half mile, out to a trestle/swingbridge over the river where get view of ship at the docks, to get ship pictures. (A lot easier then bird photos.)

Was expecting two ships to be there, but one had just left.
So rode out near the pier to wait for it.
Yep, thats my excitement these days. Got some shots of that ship going out the piers.

We nt for a ride out of town along the shoreline dunes.

And back into town, hey, well past lunch time.

Pronto Pups. Look at that - about no line, and parking space open right there. (most all summer long is half hour wait minimum). They will be open for an other month or so.

Then back out of town to home.

Later afternoon adventure was mowing the lawn... and dealing with a problem with the lawn mower.

Next few days are suppose to be warmer, more seasonable, mid 70s. Will need a further ride.

There are a bunch of those domed structures spaced far enough apart that there would not be a chain reaction should a mishap occur. Property is managed by the Game Commission. The one I was in, door was open. Every footfall is amplified and echos very loudly. Nearby trails are mowed. So they know it’s open.

Is like summer time again here, but without the humidity, Good!

Went north of Muskegon and wandered around to a few places I havent been before. Just look for something on GPS, say, a park on a creek or something, and then go in that direction.

Pictures here of familiar/prominent road along LkMich.
Pic, lower right, can see on horizon the Muskegon-Milwalkee High-Speed Hydroplane Car Ferry.

Was nice to have a working fuel guage again.
(but still muttering about the cost.)

Managed 7-20 minute sessions at Ridge. Poured rain the night before from 11pm-6am. Then the sun came out.
1st session was rather damp, but the rest of the day was most pleasant. Only 45 riders total in 4 groups, so lots of open track.

Havent been getting out as much in last 2-3 weeks.
                          But did yesterday afternoon.
Just a little ride further out of town, then back, and stop for something to eat.
THe prontopup closed for season, the beach burritto closed for season and most all the icecream plaes closed for season.
But good ol' Ray Burger open year 'round.

The place is pretty much unchanged since it opened in early 1960s. Is room for about 5 people to stand there inside, order, then wait and watch them work. I like thier fish basket, but got double burger and shake.

Got out for my usual fall shake down ride before putting the bike to bed for the winter. Insurance expires soon and highs next week are just above freezing. Bummer that fall colours are about 2 weeks late this year.
