So we ended up at carbondale. Thousands of people there. The eclipse was right on time as predicted. totality was a brutal show of force. Maybe only 3 minutes but worth the trip. the predicted traffic jam was also impressive.

So the world's still turning we didn't turn to dust. No demons or human sacrifices, I'll hang out here at my uncle's place for today and kinda follow the weather home.

I'm heading to west by God Virginia. Going to green banks radio observatory. Feeling nerdy

Heading north. Almost to Pennsylvania. there was no cell signal anywhere near the radio telescopes. Also pay phones usually don't work so I had to wait a while before I could give my wife the I'm alive call. I met a phone company guy who let me use the phone at the switch station. That was nice.

got home friday night at about 1 am. i stopped at the allegheny casino for an expensive coffee and bathroom/gambling break but that turned into a free dinner when i won 150 bucks on the slots. that felt good.

had to gear up extra warm for the rest of the ride cuz holysheepsh!t it's cold up here. i guess i was starting to get acclimated to the 90*+ down there in the south. it was 46*f when i left the casino.

the ugly (1981 gs1000g) ran perfectly for the entire 2000 miles. cruising at a pretty constant 80+ mph for 13 hours at a time.

now i have to get to cleaning up the remnants of my gixxerpunk kid's wedding. i thought they were throwing flower petals on the ground but it turns out they were plastic.... son.of.a.b....... luckily there is a lot of leftover booze.

That's pretty awesome!!! Free meal! Most don't make a positive from the casino.

Same thing when I got to PA from my journey to the south. I wore a hoodie under my jacket on the remainder of the trip home. This AM I was very cold coming in... Need to build my tolerance back up!

Glad to hear the ugly ran great for ya!!! That thing is a TANK! I give credit to the "R" badge .

When you plan on heading this way for GMR? If you want to over night at my place on Wednesday let me know! More then welcome to have ya and I'll feed you beers.

Glad GiuxxerPunk's wedding went well, sorry I couldn't make it .
