The topic for this week is something different that includes a part of your bike.

Looks like some Mad Max mods will be required for my rat VX to get a pic worthy of entry!

                OK, I'll say it. What??

I sure could use some clarity on the theme, if you could.
The picture you posted doesn't help me much. Maybe I am just dense today, but I can't really understand what I am looking at.

                  ...
I think I understand what I am seeing in your picture, based mostly on some of your "what wrenching" posts, and that is metal armor of a glove on the handlebar grip.

Question: "Something different", meaning different view/perspective of the the bike.....?
Meaning different perspective/view of only part of the bike...?
Meaning something different added to the bike?
Please explain in more detail more what you meant (and maybe also what you didnt mean).

                  .

Okay, I'll jump in here. "Something Different that includes a part of your Motorcycle"
Here are some GS 1100e swing arm inner bearing races going through the heat treatment process. They are used for adapting the GS 1100e swing arm to a GS 1000e/750e with the smaller diameter pivot bolt.

I agree with Bob and Dave, although I can see the medieval glove I'd like to know more of what you were intending to see.

I've owned a lot of GS 650G, 850G, 1000G and 1100G shaft bikes and have checked all their splines, some with advanced stages of wear....but have never seen one completely stripped like that one!!
