I quite like the current colours.
Mind you, if you wedged in the biggest engine you could and painted it Ferrari Red...

My 2012 has the damned arse end cocked up in the air. Apparently a gas saving ploy. Its a pain. I've been meaning to get a leveling kit for ten years.

As a friend of Trevor's, he already knows what I have. It's a '95 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE, 350ci, auto, which I bought in 2005. It had 123,000km, (76,000mi) on it when I bought it. I paid $10,000 for it and I haven't had to do anything major to it now that it has 215,000km, (134,000mi) on it. Even though it's got those tires on it, it's not a 4X4. Those were what were on it when I got it. Apparently the former owner's wife told him to "put some manly looking tires on it" as the stock ones looked wimpy! I got used to the look so when I did eventually replace them, (they were new), I went with the same size. 200,000 km truck.jpg

A parent of one of my students heard that I am guiding a couple of freshman who want to learn mechanics. He has a 1970 C10 that he has offered to bring in to let them refurbish. The kids will learn as they go, while the parent provides parts as needed. The truck was his high school best friend's, so there is a lot of meaning to both sides of this project.

That's cool...I love hearing stories like that and young people involved. Nothing but good can come out of that.

Sounds good for everybody involved. Congrats to anyone who can come up with a per "73" GM pick-up.

Well I have been keeping an eye out for an older short box GM/Chev truck for a little while...a project for me and my son to work on together.
My boy is working as mechanic apprentice after completing his first term...I'm proud of how he has been maturing...he's a good young man and we are lucky. Doing what I do for a living I really know how lucky we are....
Found this 1997 GMC c1500 Sierra 5 speed....hard to find....this one needs some work but has good bones...not sure how much down the rabbit hole we will go....I mean it's begging for an LS motor...lol.
Came with lots of extras too...oem headlights, taillights, a canopy that I put on my other truck and a another set of SS rims...
My boy is already at it....
I have come up with a plan to pay him 20 bucks an hour when he works on the truck by himself....he would do it for free but he can use the money for his project Celica

                          Cool slider cover too

The Black GMC pickup is a really excellent looking pickup. I owned a 1973 Toyota Celica for many years. I traded it, and felt at that moment I was making a mistake. I was.
