Speaking of interesting 400s, the KTM 390 Enduro is really cool."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Sat on a Speed 400 today. Liked it. Liked it a lot. Already working on the Mrs.
They had one X, which was sold, and a Speed, which had been reserved, but the buyer backed out.
Of course the Speed was blue, which is what I want. Build quality seems equal to my other Triumphs.
Honestly, it seems like they built the perfect geezer bike. Light, comfy, cheap.

Niiiiiiiiice!
Even on this "budget" bike, they really paid attention to ALL the details. That is dead sexy.

So am I.
So here's the story....
Will, from Triumph of Knoxville, emailed me last Wednesday that they had two 400s in. A 400X and a Speed.
They X was already sold, but the Speed buyer had backed out and it was available. And it was Blue, which is what I wanted.
Thursday afternoon I drove over to see it and pretty much fell in love with it.
But, I did not put any money down, figuring if it sold quickly, I'd just order one. And I wanted Amy's blessing first.
That evening I told Amy the details, and why I felt an old guy like me needed a lighter, newer, SAFER bike. (ABS and Traction Control)
Once I told her I was going to sell off another bike, she said, "Let's go see it tomorrow."
Went back Friday morning. Amy checked it out, sat on it, asked a few questions, and she gave me the green light.
Now, here's the fun part.
I was asking Will how much he needed to hold it, until I could get the funds out of our account.
Amy interrupted and said we'll just pay it all, as she had more than enough her account.
She pulled out her debit card and paid in full.

We do have a joint account, and we both have retirement accounts, but several years ago we got her here own, for splurging, gifts, whatever.
Makes keeping the budget easier for me, not having to worry about what she is spending.
She puts a small percentage of each check in there. Turns out, she had more than enough to cover the bike.
(And yes, I have to pay it back
)
