Yeah that's what I would've thought too... although interestingly enough there was some debate I found via Google search that indicated the larger hole was to increase the lift hence why people drilled them out...

Good old Adidas...... I've gotten my share of parts from him as well.
Sorry for the mini jack Stephen. But Pete - I have some GS450 carbs laying around if you want them. Or even just the slides if you want to experiment with them. Just cover shipping.Comment

Stephen... I'm now running 150 mains and so far so good, should be getting a nice ride in tomorrow to confirm though.
Rich, that may come in handy actually, although I have an offer here of some slides pending determining if they're the same as mine though.
I've still yet to pull the slides again and measure the vacuum hole...Comment

Mate it's awesome... last time I was out on some good roads, I hit a certain speed and that was that... no amount of crouching behind the fly screen would improve it.
On Saturday, no crouching and accelerating in 5th gear, I easily passed that speed and felt she had a reasonable amount more to go.
I'm confident I can hit the ton if I so desire now
Of course I would only do that on a private road in controlled circumstances right?

Maybe step it up another notch to see if there is any more. How do the plugs look on a wot plug chop ?Comment

I haven't done plug chops yet as the situation wasn't suitable on Saturday, but I did some tests by holding it at WOT and then letting the throttle close a little to see if she would pick up a little or not, and while it didn't seem to do so, it felt like it wanted to, so given that I don't want to get any bigger on the mains.
It's still doing some popping on decel as well so I think I need to richen the mixture screws another quarter turn.
I should be doing a dyno run with the Kat guys on May 18 which will show me how good/bad it really is...Comment

Yeah do it. Best way to find out.
Today I got a bit done and had a little bit of fun with the ignition.
Installed a dyna 200 rev limiter, put the rotor in a drill and spun it up. The rev limiter worked :-p. It would only spark so fast once it maxed out.
Also pulled the flywheel off to replace it with the new one comes. 14mm x 1.5 bolt works well.

All the parts from adidasguy arrive tomorrow. Still have to prep and seal the tank. So 2 weeks maybe.Comment
