82 gs650e would start now it wont

Bike would start and run great. I changed the oil and replaced clutch springs and it ran great after that. Well now it won't crank it will turn over and it makes a sharp hiss like noise then stops? Please help thanks

Sounds like it could be the starter clutch. Your description is a little confusing: "wont crank" but "will turn over"? Are you saying the starter runs, but it doesn't crank the engine over?

Most likely means:

Crank, no start. They like to use the word "crunk" around here.
"won't stay crunked" is an example. I cringe every time I here this.

As far as I know, the English language can get pretty imprecise!

Yes i mean the stater will turn over but will not crank the motor. And it makes a crazy sound almost like when u disconnect a pneumatic tool from a compressor. That's the best description I can think of.
