I leaned over the bars to see what it was and realised the front wheel had locked up with only gentle pressure on the brake lever.

You need some tires that aren't made of hockey puck rubber. Those look like they are 100 years old! Get something modern to go with your modernized bike!

Tom, I know they don't look that good, and I do need to get something better. Not sure on their age but they do need to be replaced. Have had other issues to contend with, motor noises, etc.

Also tires are going to cost me half the value of the bike again. Any suggestions for cheaper priced good rubber.

But I can still continue to run the motor in on these tires until I can get some others. It does handle surprisingly well though around corners. Probably because the tires still have a nice rounded profile. Drops into corners nicely with no real effort required.

How is it that we have to pay so much for tires (Oz and Canada) and THEY get them so cheap. Like less than half of what we have to pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
