OK, here are few progress pics. My wife has been gracious enough to let me work on the bike in the house this winter to stave off those 25 degree garage temps. :-D

The stock clutch basket has rattled at idle ever since I bought the bike so it was sent out to GRC to have a Falicon heavy duty clutch kit installed. Stan did a very nice job, wish I could TIG weld like that!

It was reinstalled in the bike using half OEM clutch springs and half Barnett heavy duty springs to give an easier clutch pull over the all heavy duty springs which were in the bike last season.

An Earl's oil cooler and lines were installed to help keep temperatures in line. Bracket and cooler will be painted black once it warms up enough to paint.

I wasn't a fan of the way the Hindle can looked and the ghetto-fabulous exhaust hanger I had installed to test out the viability of the header system so...

I'm in the process of putting an eBay-special (read CHEAP!) 06 GSXR 1000 Ti Yoshi slipon on the bike right now.

This is a quick mockup to see how it looks and to take measurements etc - need to fab a couple of exhaust hangers.

Sorry man, SaltyMonk on this board now has that pipe. Looks trick on his black skunk GS1000. Those Yoshi GS1000 pipes don't work with a monoshock conversion as the pipe would go right where the lower shock mount is located.

i hear you on the cheap part, i am the same way.
Send me one and I'll try it out.

Thanks, man. Wait till you see version 1.5 currently being built.

5/8" 520 offset sprocket. 520 DID ERV3 chain. No frame mods to prevent rubbing with this setup.

    back to reading
Two words: budget building. K6 and K4 parts from Fleabay. All the GSXR parts on this bike were bought on the cheap from eBay auctions.

would this have been a viable option to relieve your +6mm on the leftside of the rear wheel for chain alignment?
The 6 mm of offset was with a 6" rear rim. Going to a 5.5" rim helped quite a bit. I used the 2005 GSXR 750 rear sprocket carrier as it fit the wheel and it was a bit thinner than the GSXR 1000 sprocket carrier.

That's how it ended up with a 51/49 front/rear weight distro and when the rake was set to 24.5 degrees versus the GSXR's 23.5 degrees. I deliberately set the rake a bit conservatively to keep the handling stable. The shock and linkage still have full travel.

Just saw the post with the pictures of the rearsets. The reason that the guards are different is because I have the others!!!! Just joking about having the actual others, but in reality, my brake lever heelguard has the holes while my shift lever heelguard has the slots. Different year GSXR rearsets scrounged up from ebay for my GS650g Cafe project. Stainless brake lines and paint will complete my project.
