Polished will be a b!tch to keep clean. I ALMOST bought a chromed rear GS caliper on EBay once, then i started thinking how STUPID that would be considering i cant stand a dirty bike...lol If the bike is the Blue and White, I think BLUE calipers would look SWEET, they make blue caliper paint that is PRETTY close to the GS blue...Red would be to "out there" since there really isnt any red on the bike...however, you simply cant go wrong with black...it goes with everything...just my opinion..

Joe, what did you end up using to strip the paint? Aircraft stripper?

I used a product called Tuff-Strip by Crown. Worked really well , found it at Lowes... I would highly recommend wearing rubber gloves.

            Calipers

As you know I went gold (spare small can sitting around) and thats not to says it's the best but at the time I thought it would bring out all that hard work of details and polishing/painting. With that now powder beatuiful (yes I said it) coated swing arm Silver might or if you have the time/or money/ I haven't seen any on these bikes polished yet !!! If i had a spare set I think I would at least try to see what they look polished !!! Once you polish it youll never stop !!!

The blue rear sprocket might look good with some blue calipers, what did / are you going to do to the front disc's / calipers.?? Blue caliper paint !!

What size /brand/ tire for the rear did you go with ? My cont/blitz has plenty of tread but CrAcKeD... 130/09-17
the front is a new (last year about 300miles) Metzler 120/90-16 and worked well.

I went with DURO 130/90/17 on the rear and stock size on the front 100/90/16..very inexpensive, I wish now I would have went with Pirelli sport Demons.
Yeah I thought about polishing the calipers, there is a dark charcoal engine enamel I have sean that might accent well without looking to gaudy. Hmmmm...too many decisions..

Painted calipers look really trick. For me, I'd think black calipers would get lost in the mix and not stand out all that well. I like Josh's idea of painting them blue.

Or a titanium or magnesium color? Personally I'd go polished if I had them already stripped, but that's just me.

I was thinking something close to that color might blend well with the bike color scheme with out jumping out.

Run them down to your painter while he has your blue already mixed up. Tell him a couple extra coats of clear on top.
