      My GS850L

Here is a pic of the bike I ride. I would like to mod her a little but I still need to go through all the recommended maintenance first. Well I might do little mod first. She runs great. Rode her 200 miles today.

I was going to make minor changes. In my opinion. make seat more comfortable shaving it back toward the passenger more maybe. Lower with 11 inch shocks. I have pretty tall six four, so forward controls, fork boots, and bars, cables. She will still look like she does just a little different.

Hello Gustovh I like that seat is it custom or did you buy it. I would like to do that to my seat as well. Let me know please.

It was a new Corbin seat from a Sportster that I found in a second hand store. Scored it for $30. It dropped the seat by 3" and pretty comfy compared. I did have to cut off the front and rear captures off the frame for it to sit properly and had to jury rig the front mount. The tank is off a 750L and holds about a gal more than the stock peanut tank.

                    You think that would fit a 850 L? 1982

Nice score btw. I was just going to take mine to an upholstry shop and have it shaved. I would like to push the drivers saddle back a bit in the the passenger portion to get a bigger seat for me. What do you think? Or does this seat an easier fix?

The Corbin is on an 80 850L so yes no reason the seat would not work on an 82. But once again I cut the seat mounts off the bike to use the Sportster seat. I have looked on craigslist for seats, sportster and otherwise, most can be found fairly cheap.

I did it because the seat, tank and side covers were shot. I had the pods and the exhaust came with the bike, and the side covers were not hard to make. I don't do mods very often.
