Missing Carb part

I think I am missing one of these plugs. When I took my carbs apart, I noticed one was missing - I'm 99% sure It was missing when I took the bowls off.
I am not 100% sure which carb was missing it but it was #2 or #3.

Am I supposed to have four? They fell out when I flipped the carbs over. I didn't think they would fall out.

Suppose I could have missed it fall out earlier, but I took a close look at the carbs and I am very very sure it wasn't in there when I started.

Whats this called? Do I need a fourth? Where do I get one?

If it's there on the other 3, you should plug that somehow or you may find the fuel leaking out of the bowl.

In later model carbs, these holes were permanently filled.

Yes you need all 4. Check the old gaskets to see if its stuck to it.

Not only will you need the plug, there is a square-section o-ring that will go between the plug and the bowl gasket. It keeps the plug from falling out.

i have the four quad rings. Some how I must've lost that plug.

Is the plug plug the same as the one pictured from an eBay auction ?

No, that plug is the one that (needlessly) seals the top of the mixture screw. It is far too small to plug the hole you have.

Those plugs are typically swedged in place pretty tight. I've had them fall out before though and needed a replacement. I wound up cutting apart an old dead carb body just for that plug. Very doable. I think there are two different sizes for those plugs though. What size do you need (measure the hole with calipers)?

I think I would measure one that came out and see if I could find some metric rod the same OD. Then make a slice and grind it to the same thickness. Its a plug closing the hole they needed to drill passages during production.

it is a "permanent" part of the carb body. You need to get one from another carb, or get another body.

Yes its required and I have had them stick to the gasket and come out too. Very very close fit but now and then they do fall out.

I've got a busted carb body that I could hack apart and extract the plug. Do you have calipers to measure the hole size?
