    Dialectric Grease on Connectors

Bit confused about Dialectric Grease. In this video it says this grease is an INSULATOR not a CONDUCTOR. So why would anyone put it on or around connectors?

I have just plastered it all over my connectors and now my self-cancelling indicators are not self-cancelling anymore.

I'm thinking that I have insulated something by using this grease.

    Greetings

The grease keeps out oxidation, but you maintain electrical contact by squeezing away the grease to get metal to metal contact.

For most contacts (except perhaps the switches) DeOxit spray is easier to use.

And being an insulator it will not conduct between adjacent connector pins.
