How to remove head gasket residue

I removed the head gasket but I'm having a heck of a time removing the residue left behind from the head gasket. Any suggestions?

I'm making little to no progress with a scotchbrite alone. Are there no solvents that will aide in this en-devour?

A razor blade carefully applied.

I'm soaking the head in dish soapy water at the moment. If that doesn't help then I'll procure some paint stripper.

one sided razor for 25 years..but caution is advised....
clean up is the worst part of engine building/assembling...

What about soda blasting?

Not sure but it seems like overkill. Paint remover and a razor blade makes short work of it.
