    gs850 1979 gs 1000g

    is a gs1000g 1980 head interchangeble on a gs850 from 1979 , i know that the head on 79 gs850 can be changed with a different model but i forgot witch one,

    I believe if nothing else, the intake ports will be sized differently, both between a GS850 and GS1000, and a 1979 and 1980.

      No, the GS1000G/GS850G cylinder heads don't interchange.
      1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
      2005 KLR685, Aztec Pink - Turd II.3, the ReReReTurdening
      2015 Yamaha FJ-09, Magma Red Power Corrupts...

        The 850 engine is based on the 750 and is interchangeable with the 750. The 1000G engine will fit in the 850 frame, but the engines are different.
