is a gs1000g 1980 head interchangeble on a gs850 from 1979 , i know that the head on 79 gs850 can be changed with a different model but i forgot witch one,

I believe if nothing else, the intake ports will be sized differently, both between a GS850 and GS1000, and a 1979 and 1980. -
No, the GS1000G/GS850G cylinder heads don't interchange.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

The 850 engine is based on the 750 and is interchangeable with the 750. The 1000G engine will fit in the 850 frame, but the engines are different.Originally posted by niepoort View Post:cool:GSRick
