          Thank for all the encouraging words, it gets frustrating sometimes. but I'm almost there.

          and when this is done I start to work on my 7/11 kat so I can sell it.

            That's a nice pic.

            I just picked these up and am considering mounting them, though I will need some brackets. What do you guys think? I heard they are made of cast iron and rust in the rain easy. Not that I will be riding in the rain much.

                I am not sure about the stainless used for rotors, but generally stainless is non-magnetic, so you could try seeing if a magnet will stick or not to determine if they are cast iron. That said, cast iron is the ULTIMATE material for rotors (for street use, anyway). It has a coefficient of friction about 15% higher than stainless, wears less than SS with abrasive pads and dissipates heat better. It also rusts easily...

                C'mon, Katman - you live in Vancouver. It is impossible to ride there and not ride in the rain... How much the rusting will bother you is up to you. It is only light surface rust that forms and it scrubs off in the first couple of stops after you start riding. But things can look ugly if it's been sitting a while, and the rust leaves a reddish tinged brake dust on things. The humidity on the lower mainland will be enough to rust the rotors while sitting, without ever seeing rain.

                  That's not true Mr. Alberta,

                  We have been on water rations for many years now in the summer. Last year was in the spring. We haven't seen a lot of rain in the last few years.

                  This winter isn't looking to good though but, again, this isn't my daily ride so riding in the rain won't be common. Even so the rotors run so hot that they will be dry shortly after hitting my heated garage/shop.

                  so, DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE! lol

                    brackets are done and mounted. SS Brake lines are on and bled. Getting close. I decided to go with the 83 front pegs... think they look better.

                      The final mounting of the fairing was a pain. Lots of futsing about. I trimed the upper and lower plastic, then the forks hit the forward mounting brackets so they had to be removed and relocated.

                      I had to take so much off the lower part of the fairing I couldn't re-use the brackets and made new ones. The first weld was was in the wrong place so I had to ask good neighbour to weld them again......don't like doing that.

                      The forks are such a tight fit with the XZ6 clipons. there is only a few mm before contact with tank and the fork legs are just...just touching the fake oil cooler plastic at full lock. Not a big deal there the oil cooler will be set in a bit so they won't touch.

                      The lower triple pinch bolts hit the head light adjustment screw and the gsxr ignition had to be trimmed so it wouldn't hit the fairning center stay.

                      It is all tucked away now and fits tight but that is the way I like it. WHAT A DIFFERENCE in lookand style. As it is all coming together I am very glad I did this and I haven't even fired it up yet. I am getting itchy.

                      I've got a thunder hole gravity feed fuel valve coming from Pingel with a double fuel feed for my hungry carbs. Hope it doesn't effect my gas mileage too much........HA.HA.HA.HA.HA.HA

                        Looking great Kat. I ran into the same probably with clipons hitting too close to the tank. I decided to use some short clamps on top the triple with a a K&N Superbike bar that I narrowed by about 1 1/2". They have about a 2" rise so they are plenty low. I have an 1150 fairing I'll mount someday and it looks like the bars are going to hit just about right in the fairing.

                            No I didn't have to modify the rear axle. same diameter as my stock one so I used it because the gsxr axle is too long. I would have to spacer outside the swing or cut it down. The other dif. is the gsxr axle doesn't taper at the threads like the stock. With the stock swingarm the stock axle works great.

                              I decided to go with S.S. fittings and sent the alum ones back......I am sorry I did..but it is done now....they look ok but it wasn't any cheaper which was partly my point in doing it...anyway.

                                Well..the rear fender has been bugging me for a while. I have cut it a couple of times now there is no more to cut.

                                there is a metal bracket runing along the lines now but I am happy with it finally......

                                I also took the hood, or brim off the back top of the seat cowl and angled the tail light and lic plate bracket to give it a bit of angle ot it. Kind of more modern line if I can say that. and I ran some chrome edging along the cut edge of the fender....what's left of it that is.
