Of course I do like lots of rpms, but what I meant was that it was designed with installation of a cooler in mind (the two plugged holes on either side of the filter cover).1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.Comment

Yeah the two plugged holes is for an oil cooler. Like I said it's depends how you ride your bike. Gonna do some track racing, carrying a passenger alot, hot weather, lots of in town riding, those kind of things. Then install one, though just to install one because it has the means to have one, eh its up to you.Comment

GSX1000E
Suzuki originally planned on installing oil coolers on all of the early GS1000 models but, to save money and keep the price down, they chose not to.
Every single major motorcycle manufacturer after about 1986 has installed oil coolers on most of their models so it MUST be a bad idea.
