Got a little more done today. Installed a new drive sprocket and o-ring chain, chain guard, rear fender, rear master cylinder, center stand, battery box, wiring harness and the electrical plate.

Of course, the stainless brake lines arrived a day early, without the rear line! Oh well, I've got plenty to keep me busy! Hope to get the rear section assembled this week.

Looking great. At this point you may need a second half of winter project...

Thanks! Still a LOT of stuff to do! Hope to have it finished by April or May. Just in time for Brown County!

Made a little more progress today. Trying to do something every day so I don't start getting lazy(ier) about it! Got the coils and horns mounted. Waiting on the Deoxit to arrive to start cleaning connections.

Rear stainless brake line finally made it here! Got it installed and the rear brakes bled.

Thanks! I'm hopeful that it will turn out as well as my 1978 GS1000. If it does, I'll be one happy camper!

That's turning out to be a beautiful job. We may have to discuss a trade down the road. I think you would look good on a 19 year newer bike made by some of the best engineers in Germany.

Got some more painting done and cleaned up most of the electrical connections this afternoon. Waiting on bearings, and then I can start putting the front end on it!

Geez, sometimes it seems like this is taking forever!

Hey, just wondering your thoughts on those anti-dive units? Many have thought they were useless and think the bikes will be just as good, or better off, with them removed or blocked off. No doubt for being completely original they got to be there.

I've never had a bike with a "working set" of anti-dive units as far as I can recall. For me, the jury is out until I get a chance to ride it and see what it feels like.

I wanted to put it back stock as much as possible before deciding if I want to make any changes. Probably will leave it stock, at least until I decide if I will keep it or sell it.
