I'm back from a stonking weekend down at The Island.
I'm only just recovering now. Big, big weekend.
I just wanted to leave a short note here to say that there will be no progress on the rebuild for a little while until I sort myself for Christmas.Comment

I get the feeling that if it was truly "stonking", the pictures would not be allowed on this site.

You made it!? Lucky sod! Bet that was a glorious end to a glorious weekend! I'll refrain from any spoilers just in case...
Think of your trip to Ireland for the road races Charlie, but without quite as much rain, probably more alcohol, and with Phillip Island rather than a road to race on...
Haha not at all SteveI get the feeling that if it was truly "stonking", the pictures would not be allowed on this site.

You got it Charlie... Leigh has the good fortune to live about an hour or less from one of the greatest permanent short circuit race tracks in the world...Comment

Sorry guys, yes, stonking..
Let me explain "stonking"..
- 5 hours to do a 70 minute ride.
- An owl sitting level beside my head at 70kph.
- Being shot at by hillbillies when I stopped to check the phone.
- Pitching the tent in the dark due to being sidetracked by alcohol.
- Watching the payment of a bet. The loser had to wash the winners bike in a bikini. (I'm glad Mick lost)
- A gentle ride with the mates around the old road circuit from the 20s that ended up being somewhat spirited.
- Being welcomed back by the locals that are starting to know us
- Being hated by several of my internal organs.
I didn't take the camera, oddly enough, but this was taken by a mate of mine.

But hillbillies? WTF???? Did you happen to be riding Captain America for some reason???
Oh, and watching a dude in a bikini... that doesn't sound terribly nice on the eyeballs either... but I bet it was a laugh and a half!Comment

Leigh,
That's the expanded definition I wanted. If I ever go the Australia I'm not betting on anything. Sounds like an adventure. Cheers.

OK, the hillbillies.
I got sidetracked on the way to the Island and ended up off in the hills to the East.
At one point I stopped to check the phone (ok, Google maps) and have a smoke.
CRACK!
Jeez, that was close, I thought. I waved the phone around a bit so they screen could be seen and yelled out.
2 more shots. One went into the tree across the road.
I bolted with the helmet still sitting on the tank.
As for the bet, I meant I was glad Mick won.. Sheesh.
I'd completely forgotten the bet.
I was out the front of the house, about to go for a supply run to town, when a rather good looking young lass approached me in high heels and a Rossi flag.
Not your everyday event... Sadly.
I was a bit stunned.
She walked up and asked if Mick was in. That was when I spotted the 6 pack and the sponge.
I started laughing and had to postpone the run.

Mick enjoys the "win"

Remind me not to go East when I'm down your way next... what's the saying? Go west young man? Think I'll take that advice!
And yes, those pic's explain that nicely, and I'm also very glad Mick won
