Guest repliedThanks Mike, didn't think to look there
Not going to follow the exact scheme in that pic anyway.Using it as a jumping off point.Looking at your 1150 tells me I'm on the right track.

Guest repliedNot the best pics to scope the scheme, but there are a couple in my album here.

Guest repliedGot a pic Mike?Kind of looked for one but didn't see any.
Anyway on with the fairing fix:

Started with this.

Opened it up to get a better place to put the patch.

And the patch, not really tight so the ABS slurry can do it's magic.

The patch slurried in,now wait a couple of days to be sure it's dried out. Then I can sand it to fit better.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedSVSooke,
Great looking bike.
Just got an 82' GS850 and started a teardown. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=208234
I'm up in Comox, if you're ever riding this way.
I will hopefully have mine on the road next summer and will take a few weeks off to do an island tour, do you know if there's a group that does that around here annually?Leave a comment:

Guest repliedAll the soft clear is off.Can only do so much at a time and I've been splitting the time getting the Red Skunk's tank ready for paint.Need to fix a few things then sand with 150 then 400.Still not sure what I'm going to paint it http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=206721

All the bits off the bike.

The tank is the worst looking bit.

The sanding I got done today before I got tried of doing it.Even with 80 grit on a sander it takes a lot of time.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedSo spring has sprung, here at any rate and the KDX project has taken up most of my energy.Got to fix Yeller's paint, messed up not mixing enough hardener into the clear
Strip down and repaint in orderno small task with this much bodywork.Tick tock tick tock.

Guest repliedOh I will. And I'm sure I'll have plenty of annoying questions as well. Real work to the bike is going to be a little while off, I need to remove and either rebuild or replace the six speed automatic transmission from my wife's stupid Mini first. That was deal was made so I can still have a happy wife after I bought another motorcycle

Guest repliedPicking the color is hard stuff. It'll be quite awhile before I even get to that stage on my GS700E and it's already bothering me. I think I'll shove the decision off to my four yera old son... Well, I'l have veto rights anyway
Should have possession of the pile of parts in about four hours!Leave a comment:

Lost the bits to.I happen to have an old side cover that's just the right curve
