I'm not that fond of green Dale, thinking more along the lines of this:

And maybe get this guy http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...php?t=217400to make me up some reflective "Skunk" stripes.

Thought about this since yesterday. I'm thinking green only because I'm partial to it. Not that really bright green shown on the GPz550 http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...6-12-11003.jpg but more of green on the bluish end of the scale.

    Similar to this...

Nice. Just ordered a set and the carb bolts too. These guys have a US site as well so I didn't have to pay to ship it from the UK.

I'll be referencing your build as you have a ton of good info on there.

    Thanks

    Sooke,

Where did you pick up this screw set? Is this just for the engine?

Been busy with the 750 so the 1000 has been languishing so to reignite my interest I mocked up the 1000 bodywork.

Was going to redo the whole tank and tail.Looking at it today I think I'll just carefully sand these down and redo them with a can of 2K.

I think I put this the wrong wayThe "glovebox" piece doesn't fit right.

Well I decided he was right in the end,had Apex make me this one:

Think the 45 on the caliper end looks way better to.

Got a new reservoir to,just for Dale

Never did find something that looked pinched or burned on either pod.Of course that ground wire burning could have messed up whatever caused it.In any case I got all new switch gear a new harness so I can't see any reason for a repeat performanceCleaned up and started reattaching the wiring. Also found the place to put the relay for the for the horn.

Nestles quite nice in the frame on top of the horn mounting plate.Get a fuse holder and I have the rest of the stuff to finish it off.Started this to get the Martek rewired, that still isn't done.

The only reason I can think of for that harness melting was a current carrying wire somehow or another got shorted to ground.

I'll look through this thread later on tonight or tomorrow morning to refresh my memory. Mot too tired right now after spending 7-1/2 hours running 230V out to the garage.

Well I think I MIGHT know what happened to the first harness. Was messing around with the horns and harness and I found a frame ground, had a .Went in to check the old harness, there's 2 grounds!!.Thinking either I put one in the wrong place of missed one entirely.I put both to the frame this time.Think I'm on the right track here?
