Guest repliedyou should have coils w good boots tomorrow -
Guest repliedYeah there's two of those, mine connect right around the coils, under the tank. A blue one and a white one, with a single wire connected between the two with a bullet connection.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedOf course I do. But I haven't actually looked at it yet.... Today is my day off so lots of bike time today!
But still.... A big plug with no where to plug into??? It's coming from the wiring harness so there must be another plug for the gauge cluster. Maybe it got snagged behind the headlight bucket somewhere when I stuffed all of the wiring into it.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedIt has got to be something really easy.
These bikes are not that hard to figure out.
You DO have a test light and a volt meter right?

Guest repliedSorry. I have more bad news.
I have these extra wires hanging around.

I turned the key and every light works except for the headlight. WTF???
It must have something to do with those extra wires. And of course it doesn't run because those 2 orange wires with bullets are for the start button.
EDIT: My speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and oil temp gauge lights do not work either.Last edited by Guest; 09-18-2011, 12:32 AM.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedBtw
That champagne bodywork with the polished aluminum engine is NICEEE!!!!
Bummer that it sounds like you got bodywork that was in rougher shape than the stuff you had

Guest repliedNearly done with the wiring harness. I should be ready to attempt a start this Sunday with the new harness and igniter. All of my lights should be working as well.
One thing though... I need longer bolts for the igniter. The 80-81 1100E igniter is much thinner than the 82-83 igniter. Minor setback but Lowe's should have what I need. Other than that, I'm good.
Oh wait..... I need sparkplug boots

Guest repliedI don't really want to sell it. It would be a nice fun side project for me. Besides, I'm not gonna ship this thing anywhere!
If I were to sell it, you would have to come pick it up.

I haven't even taken a look at the airbox yet. Carbon fiber lid? It's awesome based on a quick peek.
