Anyways, I'm trying to decide between getting exhaust bolts or studs. Hmmm....
I have been thinking the same thing, I think the studs would be easier to deal with but the bolts would provide a cleaner look. I haven't decided which way to go either.

Go studs.Way less wear and tear on aluminium threads.

unless you go with studs and use acorn nuts... now, that's a clean look

Now that's what I'm talking about! 60mm oughta do it since I have after market headers.

Finally got paid for the stuff I sold on eBay. I am going to go get the engine tomorrow morning!

Excellent! Man it must be nice to be close to a complete bike again

It's weird having mine out of the garage... seems rather empty in there!

Spent a total of 9 hours and $400 today.

              Here's an engine.

And it needs to go in here. Bike has been stripped down.

Lay it on the side technique.

Some parts were missing from this engine such as the stator, signal generator, signal generator cover, gear position sensor, and starter motor cover.

But luckily I kept the stator, signal generator, signal generator cover, and gear position sensor from the grenaded 1983 engine.

I only need the starter motor cover. I also need to drain the oil and fill it up with new oil, air filters for the carburetor, and possibly new intake pipes (I couldn't put the carbs on because it's hard).

What else? Need a gasket for the stator cover (there is none). Pulled the starter out of the engine and bench tested it. It works! Good compression on all 4 cylinders and that's good as well.

OK... I have a very good feeling about this engine

Yeah, I know. But it would taken too long lol. It wasn't easy to lift this whole rolling frame over the engine. The thing must have weighed as much as me!

Must feel good to not have that big empty hole in the middle of the frame any more FC, nice work

                          Thanks guys!

I feel real good right now, especially after a night of flame grilled BBQ steak and chicken and explosions going off every couple of secs. I hope you guys had a good July 4th!

Having this engine did wonders to my motivation . Now I have a new goal. Get it running before the end of July.
