That section of the frame is often removed to install a QUALITY set of headers that has more ground clearance. Not usual to see it done to a G model though.

Powder coating done, should have got more stuff done for only a couple of hundred dollars.

Only got seat pan sand blasted and thought I would hand paint rust proofing prior to new cover.

        Looking good Greg!

And yeah, seat pan won't need much to protect it, just make sure it's covered completely and you should be good to go...

Reusing piston and rings. I think the 0.5 means oversize 1/2mm. Started looking for new rings to replace but I dont think they supply them anymore. Looked on all the web sites but no luck. The piston and rings dont look that bad so back in they go.

Yes those pistons should measure to fit a 69.5mm bore cylinder. That project is moving right along and going to be sweet.

Glad to see it coming together Greg! If you're stuck for parts don't forget to try Mick Hone. Although they're best for Kat stuff apparently they have a large amount of Suzuki parts on hand...

Obviously your son's not gonna make it for June 1st

Thanks but I just dont think the rings are ever going to be easy to purchase.

Thanks Pete after you told me about Mick Hone I have being using him heaps for parts.

I have been behind posting the progress of this build because we have had a major engine failure, I will be posting the results shortly. Until then some more pics.

The electrical layout looks different to my bike, must come from another model. The fuse box is not tilted like mine and the ignitor looks different.
